Bread Making, Butter Making

 By: Felecia and Landon

We went to the lunchroom.  We made bread and butter.  We had so much fun.  We loved the butter so much.  We also loved the bread.  We ate it all during a movie.

We ate in the first grade room.  We watched the movie “Alvin and the Chipmunks Thanksgiving”.  We loved it.  We had a great time.  We want to do it again.  We had first grade, kindergarten, and second grade come to the lunchroom.  We made so much. We were all full.  We also made lots of butter.  We had lots of fun.  We did lots of activities.  We made a turkey project.  We made a “How to Catch a Turkey Project”.  We made a dice project.  We made a cookie pilgrim hat.  We played on an iPad.  We had so much fun!!  We shook a container of milk to make butter.  We really had so much fun!!  Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!

Enjoy the pictures!

Ryerson Woods Field Trip

Share

Ryerson Woods

We went to Ryerson Woods.  We felt fox fur and squirrel fur.  It was a real squirrel and fox’s dead skin.  We learned about seeds and felt seeds.  We also went on a seed scavenger hunt.  We ate at the little place in the woods at Ryerson Woods.  We sat on stones and some of us played tag.

There are 27 chapters.  It won an award.  He takes an adventure.  The cover of the book has pretty colors.  The illustrator is Bagram Ibatoulline.  I love this book so much because he doesn’t just take 1 adventure, he takes many adventures, it’s fun!!

Surprise Visitor

Share

We had a visitor today it was a baby chipmunk.  It was staring at us and making

little noises.   It was sitting in the window sill listening to our lesson.

We  all wanted to write about the chipmunk.     Mrs Kramer picked

Dayna  and Dayna picked Eric to help.  It was so so cute.  We all crowded around it. It was brown with black stripes.

Dayna and I wrote about it.

Yesterday, Ben read an ABC book, that he wrote, to the kindergarteners.  They were a fantastic audience.  He enjoyed reading to them.

What a great start to second grade.  We are in our third week of school and everything seems to be running smoothly.  The students are getting used to their routines.  Mrs. Barnett did such a great job teaching Daily Five LIteracy Centers  that I was able to start reading groups  the second week of school.  Amazing :)

Stay tuned for posts from the second grade students.
