5th grade uses Screen Chomp app

The 5th graders used iPads today in Spanish class!  They are such digital natives.  Any thing technology just makes sense to them and they are really able to create some great videos in NO TIME at all!  Today we used an application on the iPad called Screen Chomp.  I showed the fifth graders how to use it… and in five minutes or less, they were able to create these awesome little videos below.  They recorded their voices, wrote in Spanish and explained what some of the useful phrases mean in English.  Fifth grade is a big year in Spanish class.  We begin to earn pesos for participation, we earn Spanish Euros for class parties, we get homework and we try to ONLY speak in Spanish.  They earn Mexican pesos for using only Spanish during class.  We’ve been working with some useful phrases and questions that are hung around our classroom in order to do so.

Click on the links below to see our Screen Chomps, see us write in Spanish and to hear our voices.

Cristobál-más despacio por favor

Fermín-no sé

Carlos-Lo siento

Jesús-Necesito ayuda.

Zacarías-No comprendo.

Lucita-No lo tengo.

Rico-está bien, no pasa nada

Amelia-Espera un momento por favor.

 These students created these in less than five minutes!  Incredible!  Aren’t they great?
